In a continued effort to support victims of communal violence, the Member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency, *Rt. Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus Laori*, has officially flagged off the distribution of relief materials to affected communities in Lamurde Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
The intervention was facilitated through the Honourable Member’s sustained advocacy and engagement with the *North East Development Commission (NEDC)*.
The relief materials, approved and released by NEDC, are aimed at providing immediate support to families displaced and impacted by the recent clash in Lamurde LGA.
*NEDC’s Commendation*
Speaking at the flag-off, the NEDC representative commended Rt. Hon. Laori for his diligence and commitment.
“Not every Member of the House can achieve this. Despite a demanding legislative schedule, he followed all due processes to ensure these relief items were delivered to his constituents in Lamurde,” the representative stated.
He further assured the Honourable Member of the Commission’s continued partnership and support for projects that will directly benefit the constituency.

Addressing beneficiaries and stakeholders, Rt. Hon. Laori expressed deep concern over the recurring communal clashes and the suffering of innocent people.
“Our goal extends beyond relief distribution. What I truly desire is a peaceful and secure Lamurde where families can live, farm, and pursue their livelihoods without fear,” he said.
“Our aim is not to keep bringing relief materials. Our prayer and priority is to see lasting peace restored in Lamurde Local Government Area. Lamurde is known for peace, and it is that peace we will continue to work for and protect,” he added.
He urged the people to embrace dialogue, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that lasting peace remains the only foundation for sustainable development.
The lawmaker also expressed special appreciation to the NEDC for its prompt approval and cooperation in alleviating the suffering of affected communities.
Rt. Hon. Laori further charged community representatives and LGA officials to ensure that the relief materials are distributed transparently, fairly, and strictly to the intended beneficiaries.
