The Member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency, Rep. Kwamoti, hosted members of the One Vision, One Mission Youth Support Movement, a group comprising youths from the constituency resident in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who paid him a solidarity visit to commend his impactful representation and reaffirm their support for the consolidation of his developmental strides.
During the interactive session, Rep. Kwamoti engaged the youths on a wide range of issues affecting young people, including employment, empowerment, education, entrepreneurship, leadership, and community development at the constituency, state, and national levels.
He challenged the youths to look beyond dependence on public sector employment and embrace entrepreneurship by leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT), digital innovation, and other emerging opportunities capable of transforming them into job creators, innovators, and drivers of economic growth.
The meeting also provided participants with valuable insights into the workings of the National Assembly, highlighting the importance of legislative experience, institutional continuity, and sustained representation in achieving meaningful and lasting development for the constituency.
Explaining his development priorities, Rep. Kwamoti noted that over 90 percent of his constituency interventions have focused on education, youth empowerment, and critical infrastructure. According to him, investment in education remains the foundation for sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
The meeting further reviewed the prevailing security situation in Lamurde and neighbouring communities. Participants acknowledged the ongoing efforts of government, security agencies, traditional institutions, and other stakeholders in advancing the peace process, noting that the interventions are already yielding encouraging results.
Discussions also emphasized the need for more transparent and consistent communication between the Representative's office and constituents. Participants proposed regular media briefings, expanded community outreach, and strengthened social media engagement to keep the people adequately informed about legislative activities and constituency projects.
Youth leaders pledged to intensify stakeholder engagement, grassroots mobilization, and community outreach aimed at promoting civic participation and strengthening support for continued quality representation.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both the lawmaker and the youth to ensuring that democratic governance delivers tangible benefits to the people of Demsa, Numan, and Lamurde.
Speaking on behalf of the movement, Prince Richard Christopher, Leader of the One Vision, One Mission Youth Support Movement, commended Rep. Kwamoti for his exemplary leadership and dedicated service to the constituency. He described him as one of the most impactful representatives the constituency has produced since Nigeria's return to democratic rule, noting that his interventions have positively transformed the lives and livelihoods of many across the three local government areas.
He called on constituents to continue supporting the lawmaker to enable him to build on the progress already recorded.
In his closing remarks, Rep. Kwamoti reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to youth inclusion, social development, quality education, improved security, and people-centred representation. He pledged to continue working closely with youth groups, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders to translate the outcomes of the engagement into practical initiatives that will further advance the development of the constituency.
