*Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori scrutinize the Bill to Regulate Corporate Social Responsibility.*
One essential condition that must be fulfilled in the process of law making is public hearing.
Today, the law maker representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency and members of the 10th Assembly Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility engages critical stakeholders and the general public on the principles and values of a bill that seeks regulate corporate social responsibility in Nigeria.
*Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori Receives Myaniyomso Club's Award of Excellence and Purposeful Leadership.*
It's the 7th Edition of Myaniyomso Club's National Retreat/Award Presentation held at Mope Hotels, Jos- Plateau State.
The member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency is among the 3 eminent Nigerians honored by the Club, in recognition of his outstanding performance at the National Assembly.
While appreciating the honor done him, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti applauded the club's vision and initiatives, also urge the club to continue to advance the cause of unity and progress in Numan and Adamawa state.
The law maker further challenge the club to aspire to grow beyond its current status, comparing it to the Ikoyi Club of Lagos founded in 1938.
Rep. Kwamoti promise to support the club initiatives in the area of coperate social responsibility to Numan community; urge the club to expand it's proposed arena to accommodate bar, swimming pool, indoor sports and recreational needs of Numan community and guests.
Also urge the club the engage in community coperate social responsibility as well as businesses that promotes commerce and industry in the state.
Hon Kwamoti made a cash donation to the club and promises continued support for the club objectives and projects.
Other award recipients are Distinguished Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe and Dr. Maurice Vunobolki (Dyapa Bachama).

*Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori Decried the recent increase on electricity tariff in Nigeria: Calls for Review.*
At the special public hearing of the Joint House of Reps Committees on Power, Commerce, National Planning and Delegated Legislation, the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and reps of Civil Society Organization all presented their positions on the policy.
Stakeholders underscores the need for an electricity sector that is efficient and reliable as being fundamental to Nigeria's infrastructure and industrial growth. They however urge government to be sensitive to the welfare of Nigerians by implementing policies that supports private sector investment and industrialization.
According to the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, the over 300% increase in electricity tariff has led to the shorting down of many manufacturing industries both large and small scale due to high cost of production.
The cumulative effect of the policy on unemployment and insecurity can only be imagined.
The people's law maker, representing Demsa/Numan Lamurde Federal Constituency also described the increase in electricity tariff in Nigeria as insensitive to the suffering of the masses who are yet to cope with the impact of subsidy removal on petroleum products.
The law maker acknowledged the impact of the increase on national economic growth and productivity, unemployment and the general welfare of Nigeria's citizens assured stakeholders that the committee would review all presentations made.
During the public hearing, a representative of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission attempted to halt the proceedings on grounds of an existing Court process.
In his response Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori, being a lawyer himself clarifies that the court processes refered to cannot hinder the public hearing from continuing on the grounds that the voices of Nigerians who are not parties to the suit in court is crucial and the public hearing by the House of Reps represents such voices.
Hon. Kwamoti's clarifications was supported by Prof. Sam Amadi and other learned colleagues in the committee which allowed the public hearing to proceed unhindered.
It is hope that the outcome of the public hearing yields better reviews on the current electricity tariff regime to save manufacturing companies, workers in private sector and indeed the Nigerian populace from the further negative impacts of the regime.

*Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori re-commits Federal University of Education Numan (Establishment Bill) for Passage by the House of Representatives* .

Recall that the Bill for an Act to establish Federal University of Education, Numan was passed by both Chambers of the National Assembly in the 9th Assembly but couldn't secure the needed Presidential assent.
Shortly after the inauguration of the 10th Assembly, Rep. Kwamoti Re-presented the Bill and it was read the first time on the 16th November, 2023.
In today's plenary, the Bill has been re-commited to the House of Representatives committee of the whole for consideration. This is a major step towards speedy passage of the Bill by the House of Representatives.

*Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B Laori commisserate with PDP Ward Chairman Numan III; Condenms the heinous crime, urge authorities to bring perpetrators to book.*
The member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency, expressed shock over the resurgence of violent attacks by criminal herders on farmers in his constituency.
The law maker stated this while commisserating with the family of Alh. Bello Bantakwa Kakanda, the Ward Chairman of PDP Numan III, who was violently attacked by criminals suspected to be herdsmen on his rice farm in Kwapukai on Saturday, 18th May, 2024.
During the attack, Hassan, one of the sons of the chairman who accompanied him to the farm couldn't make it alive while the Chairman and his second son sustained life threatening degrees of injuries and fractures and currently receiving treatment.
The law maker who sympathize with the family over the loss also called on youth to remain calm and avail authorities any useful information that may aid their investigation and possible arrest of the perpetrators.
The ranking member called on his constituents to remain vigilant and be willing to report any suspected movement of armed herdsmen in the area.
He also called on the security and law enforcement agencies in Adamawa State to bring the perpetrators to account for their dastardly act, in order to serve as deterrence to others with such evil intentions.
Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori condenm the attack in the strongest terms, express worries that such attack is coming at a time people are preparing to resume the wet season farming activities. He stressed that in the face of biting economic hardship and hunger across the country, criminals would not be allow to prevent people from cultivating their farmlands.

*Rep. Kwamoti B Laori and others Met Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, advocates for a Parliamentary System of Government for Nigeria* .
The group of 60 parliamentarians led by Hon. Kingsley Chinda, the Minority Leader of the 10th House of Reps met with former president Olusegun Obasanjo today at the Shehu Musa Yar'adua Center Abuja.
The meeting followed the presentation of a Constitution amendment Bill sponsored by the group, seeking to replace the current presidential system with a parliamentary system of government.
Meeting Obasanjo is part of the group's effort to engage critical stakeholders in the country to drum support for the bill.
Also to further stimulate conversations for an alternative to the presidential system which most Nigerians agreed has failed to meet their aspirations after many years of practice.
In his remarks, Chief Obasanjo welcome the idea of a constitutional amendment. Noted that Nigerians need a home grown system of government that encompasses her culturestressed and traditions; a sort of an "Afro-democracy".
The former president agreed no less, that western democracy and the presidential system of government introduced to most African countries has not yielded the desired expectations. Hence the need to go back to what has worked for Africans pre-colonialism.
The group had earlier in February sponsored an amendment to the current constitution to give way for a parliamentary system which it consider less expensive, more responsive and accountable to the people a reasonable allowance for checks and balances.
The advocacy continues as Nigerians are encouraged to be part of the conversation for a better alternative governance system that would enable Nigeria achieve her full potentials.
"The whole idea is to have a people-oriented system of leadership and a governance system that is responsive and accountable to the electorates" Laori stressed.

During Tuesday's plenary, at the House of Reps, the silent achiever, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti proposed 2 important amendments to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
The proposed amendments which passed first reading, seeks to improve the welfare, peace and security of all Nigerians, also aims to promote order and good governance in the country.
The law maker called on his constituents and Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing Constitutional amendment, to ensure their voice is heard.
The workaholic law maker has once again stressed that beside commissioning life impacting projects, human capital development and youth empowerment, the need to improve on extant laws of the land to accommodate new challenges in human society is also crucial.
He further maintained that as people representative and a law maker he would not relent in his primary responsibility of making laws that brings democracy dividends to his esteemed constituents and the nation at large hence the proposed amendments.

Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori donates Cash, Football and Jerseys to Clubs in Kwah Community.
Represented by his Aide, the law maker donated football, jerseys and cash to encourage youth sports development and promote unity in Kwah.
Impressed by the love, peace and unity among youth, demonstrated during his visit to commission a block of 3 classrooms in Kwah, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti promised to support youth clubs and football teams in Kwah Community.
Exactly one week after, the promise was fulfilled. The donations were made in the presence of Hama Kwah Chief Nixon Tamuna, the Chairman, Kwah Community Devt. Association, among other stakeholders. Pastor Zaro Kwah urged the youth to eschew violence, live in peace and engage only in meaningful ventures to better their lots.
The representatives of the clubs were full of praise and appreciation for the law maker; also prayed God to continue to protect and guide him to do more.

The retreat organized by Nigeria's House of Reps, Federal Inland Revenue Service and Conrad Adenauer Stintung focused on the theme _Economic Transformation and Development: Towards Effective Implementation of the Petroleum Industry Reform Act (2021) and Tax Reforms/Modernization_ promises to impact positively on the Nation's economy.
The workalic member representing Demsa/Numan/ Lamurde Federal Consttiency was in full attendance to represent his people and contributed robustly to discussions during the retreat.
At the event which ended yesterday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. Former speakers HE Aminu Bello Masari and Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara also graced the opening ceremony.

*RT. HON. KWAMOTI B LAORI COMMISSIONS BLOCK OF 3 CLASSROOMS IN KWAH, LAMURDE. LGA, ADAMAWA STATE*
In fulfillment of his campaign promise to the people of Kwah Community in Lamurde LGA of Adamawa State, the member Representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency has commissioned a block of 3 classrooms and donated furniture.
It was a day the people of Kwah had anxiously waited for as they rolled out the drums to receive Rt. Hon. Kwamoti for keeping to his campaign promise, an act many described as uncommon with politicians.
Welcomed by an array of colorful traditional dancers and youth groups, the Law maker was received by the visibly elated traditional ruler Kpan Bah, Chief Nixon Tamuna.
During this occasion, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti was recognized as *Vipion Kwah* translated as *the Shade of Kwah* by the Kpan Bah for providing the building where children can be educated without being affected by rain of sunlight.
A symbolic part of this event is the presentation of a decorated spear to the law maker by Kpan Bah for self-defense and for hunting more democracy dividends to the people of Kwah.
The Adviser to the Governor of Adamawa State on UBEC, Hon. Justina Nkom; the Heads of Service - Lamurde and Demsa LGAs; Sole Administrator of Waduku State Development Area, Hon. Relester; former Council Chairmen of Lamurde LGA namely Hon. Bulus Daniel, Hilda Enias, Dimas Bello; community leaders and PDP stakeholders, too numerous to mention all graced the occasion offering goodwill.
Concerned about teaching Staff deficit in the School, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti promised to engage an ad-hoc staff for a stipend, from among Kwah youth to fill the gap.
Hon. Kwamoti reassured the people of his resolve to continue to bring democracy dividends to positively impact lives and livelihood without leaving out any Ward in the 3 LGAs he represents.
Highlights of the event include traditional dances from Jenjo, Bandawa and Kwah cultural troupe. It was indeed a fulfilling event for the people of Kwah, Waduku ward and Lamurde LGA as a whole.
