*University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) Inaugurates Adamawa State Chapter*

It was a 3 in 1 eventful night at the Government House Banquet Hall Yola. 

It was a night of inauguration, dinner and awards to deserving UJAA members in Adamawa State.

Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B Laori was among notable UJAA members awarded for his invaluable support towards strengthening the association.

Dr. Mrs. Celine La'ori a fellow UJAA herself was gorgeously standing by her lovely husband during the event.

The event featured cultural dance performance by Wajele Bwatiye Cultural Troupe and the NYSC Art group.

HON LAORI SECURES APPROVAL FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NIGERIA INSTITUTE FOR LEATHER SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY EXTENSION SERVICE CENTER NUMAN, COMMISSIONS MORE PROJECT IN CONSTITUENCY

 

 

As activities geared towards the primary elections gets largely underway with politicians busy canvassing for  votes from party delegates , the Member Representing NUMAN, DEMSA and Lamurde federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B Laori remains more committed to delivering life impacting project in his Constituency. 

A  Fully furnished 6 Classrooms Block sponsored by Hon Laori was commissioned by the paramount ruler of Bachama Kingdom, HRM Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila (oon) in Numan.

While commissioning the building,the paramount ruler decried the deteriorating level of infrastructure bedeviling the  education sector in his domain,  he  applauded the Federal Law maker for his foresight in bridging the gap by undertaking such a project.

The Honourable  Member  while delivering his speech announced to the cheers of the crowd that  he has also secured approval for the establishment of the Nigeria Institute for Leather Science Technology (NILEST) Extension Service Center in Numan.  He revealed also the  the newly commissioned building would be used as temporary Site for takeoff of the institute. 

He further hinted that the Center when fully functional would afford youth across Adamawa State and parts of Northeast the opportunity to be trained on leather goods manufacturing technology at a subsidized cost.

Interestingly also he said  Products such as footwear,seat covers, bags, belts and wallets of all kinds would be produced locally in Numan for export.

He therefore called on the youth to look in the direction of skilled acquisition rather than to hunt  white collar jobs for employment.

 He further gave assurance to the youth that he would continue to do his best to support skills and  entrepreneurship development to enhance self reliance,  he maintained that for the  youth to come of the debacle of unemployment and poverty such meaningful ventures should be encouraged.

The Law maker thanked the Bachama Traditional Council for offering to donate land for the Permanent Site of the Center.

Speaking at the event also,  the Principal of the School thanked the Member for adding to the number of Classrooms in the school and prayed that another major challenge the institution faces is the lack of Water and pleaded for assistance in that area too.

The Hon. Member also donated customized writing materials to the students as part of gesture of encouragement and also noted the concerns raised by the Principal.

Highlights of the event included cultural dance display by the Ngara Njiya Cultural Troupe.

The Federal Law maker has attended the previous Annual Cultural Festival as a guest but this time as a title holder and a major stakeholder that is under obligation to advance the interest of Mbula traditional kingdom.

The Murum Bondo Mbula was welcomed into the venue with style and  pageantry as he takes his Honorable seat as a Title holder in the Mbula traditional Council.

This year's event was different from the previous years.

*Rep. Kwamoti Distribute Empowerment Materials to Constituents in Numan LGA*

Women and Youth of Numan LGA were full of gratitude to God for the empowerment executed by Hon Kwamoti B Laori, Member representing Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency. 

This is the 3rd time the member is distributing empowerment materials to youth and women in his Constituency, this year 2022.

Items distributed included Fertilizer, Herbicides, Knapsack Sprayer, Clippers and Generators, Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines and Water Pumps.

Not fewer than 2 persons from each of the 95 Polling Units of Numan LGA benefited as well as youth & women cooperatives and groups.

Beneficiaries were encouraged to make good use of the items gifted them to reduce poverty and improve their livelihoods.

The Member in his remarks promised to do more to reach those who are yet to benefit from this round of empowerment.

Some of the beneficiaries pledges continued support for the member in his future political aspiration. 

The event which held at Government Lodge Numan was witnessed by HE P. P Power, Hon. Dishi Khobe, James Iliya, Executive Chairman Numan LGA, PDP Stalwart, Hama Numan among others.

PRESENTATION OF POLITICAL ASPIRATION FORMS TO HONOURABLE KWAMOTI B. LAORI -‘Kamri Apollo, 27 March 2022

 

“It’s my responsibility to listen to you, and I have to listen well!”

These words formed part of the affirmative response Rt. Honourable Kwamoti B. Laori gave the contingent who purchased and handed over to him PDP expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2023 general election s. The contingent insisted he stand for re-election as the honourable member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency Adamawa State in the 2023 general elections.

I was one of the guests invited to witness the event in the afternoon of Friday 25th March 2023.

A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party Leaders representing Demsa, Numan and Lamurde, and a leader of the Hausa Fulani community in the constituency came calling to present expression of interest and nomination forms to a man they insisted must return and continue serving them in the 10th Assembly come 2023. The delegation was led by the Mr. Bitrus Bonah a retired Principal. 

I recently had cause to look into Hon. Laori’s legislative impact in his constituency. In a time when people bemoan the inaccessibility of their legislators, Hon. Laori presents himself frequently to his constituents for assessment and realignment of their agreed lines of action regarding improving the lot of the constituency. His efforts range from infrastructural intervention in the education and health sectors, to youth empowerment programmes. Some of these were listed by the visiting contingent.

In the eyes of a significant number of people, the lines between legislative and executive functions are blurred or, in some extreme cases, none existent at all. Many who reside in rural Nigeria regard members from the executive and legislative arm of government as just that…”government!” This loose term, “government” is widely considered to be a panacea for all of society’s problems. Nigeria, with an infrastructural deficit running into trillions of Naira, leaves many areas lacking in basic amenities. Our legislators, being closer to the people, bear the bulk of the pressure which comes with the peoples’ needs and demands. Meeting the needs of the people within the scope of their constitutional roles as legislators is no mean feat! To address this concern, legislators have the authority to nominate an agreed amount of the appropriations bill which will go towards projects in their constituencies. These projects are executed by the executive. 

The Peoples Democratic Party in Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency have again put forward their champion, Honourable Laori, to take on any contenders from the other political parties who will throw their hats in the ring in 2023. How will the contenders fare against a man described by the visiting contingent as humble, empathic and result-oriented? Only time and the results at the polls next year will tell.

As we move into the realm of primaries across the country, political parties will strategize and re-strategize on how to win the majority of votes at the polls across the land come the 2023 general elections. Promises made will be weighed against promises delivered. As the people become more enlightened on matters of governance, the best chance politicians will have of re-election will be determined, to a large extent, on how well they have delivered to their people and how well they key into Honourable Kwamoti Bitrus Laori’s principles of leadership through service when he says;

*GROUP SHOCKS REP. KWAMOTI LAORI DURING A COURTESY CALL* .

 

  The member representing Numan/Demsa /Lamurde at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Kwamoti was shocked by group of Friends and Associates from Numan, Demsa, Lamurde and Abuja who paid him a courtesy visit at the National  Assembly. During his remarks, the group leader Mr Bitrus Bona described the member as a visionary and effective representative. Bona said the group is not oblivious of the calls by other interest groups on the member to contest other elective positions, as his friends and associates they have resolved. The  group pull a surprise by presenting to the member the PDP House of Reps Interest and Nomination Forms as their expression of vote of confidence on the law maker. The group described the law maker's performance as unprecedented and urged him to consolidate. The group who left the member no choice, maintained that there's no vacancy in the position. Leaders of the group further applauded the good feedback they are getting, which also informed their decision to pass a vote of confidence on him as a worthy and reliable representative. In his response, the member who was visibly emotional expressed shock and joy for the uncommon love and sacrifice displayed by the group. Kwamoti thanked members of the group for the gesture and vote of confidence bestowed on him and promised that as their messenger he would continue to report to them and would never take their support for granted. He further stated " I am aware that when people commend your effort is also a demand on you to do more, therefore with your continued support and guidance I shall give my best to serve and represent you better. Being his friends and associates, the law maker urged them to continue to advise and advance constructive criticism that would make him perform better where there's need for improvement. He pledge to abide by there decision, since he was left no choice. Others who gave goodwill messages include Comrade Eliot Afiyo, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakaino Makondo, Col.
