UNITY SKATERS CLUB OF NIGERIA VISITS RT. HON KWAMOTI B. LA'ORI, AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY:



Yesterday, being Thursday, 27th November 2025, the Unity Skaters Club of Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Bitrus Kwamoti Laori at his office in the National Assembly, Abuja. The visit was to express gratitude for the warm support they received from the Governor of Adamawa State, H.E. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, during the 2025 Fresh Air Skating Championship, where skating was officially recognized as a grassroots sport in the state. During the meeting, the club requested Hon. Kwamoti to serve as their Patron a role he gladly accepted. He also pledged his full support as the team begins preparations for the Fresh Air Skating Championship Yola 2026.


The delegation was led by the Club Chairman, Coach Sylvester Phadion, who is currently training for two Guinness World Record attempts: Fastest Slalom on 20 Cones, Fastest Sideways Slalom on 500 Cones.


These historic attempts are scheduled to take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on December 4th and 7th, 2025. Also present was Coach Yahaya Bulama, Arewa Coordinator, who presented a token of appreciation to Hon. Kwamoti in recognition of his commitment to youth empowerment and sports development. Mr. Idris Usman commended the Honorable Member for his consistent contributions to community development across Adamawa State.


In his remarks, Coach Sylvester extended gratitude to Hon. Kwamoti for his responsive leadership and reminded his Senior Legislative Aide, Mr. Dennis Ahmadu, of the earlier promise to provide a borehole to Gyakan Community, especially as the dry season approaches.

Hon. Kwamoti praised the skaters for using sports to promote peace, unity, and youth engagement. He confirmed his intention to personally attend the Guinness World Record attempt on December 7th, after concluding his legislative session

 on the 4th.

*Rep. Kwamoti attends 2025 IPPF General Assembly in Bali, Indonesia*


Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori, National President of the Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), has participated in the 2025 International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) General Assembly, held from 18–20 November in Bali, Indonesia.The high-level global convening brought together policymakers, parliamentarians, health experts, youth advocates, and civil society leaders from across IPPF’s worldwide network.



As the National President of PPFN—IPPF’s Member Association in Nigeria—Rt. Hon. Laori played a key leadership role at the Assembly. He addressed the global audience on behalf of the African region, highlighting the continent’s priorities, progress, unique challenges, and the urgent need for sustained investment in rights-based health services. His remarks reinforced Africa’s commitment to expanding access to quality reproductive health care, strengthening youth engagement, and advancing equity across all communities.


The Assembly focused on strengthening global cooperation around sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), reviewing IPPF’s strategic direction, and assessing progress under the ongoing “Come Together” strategy. A major highlight of the gathering was the unanimous adoption of IPPF’s first-ever Charter of Values, centered on dignity, equality, justice, community, integrity, pleasure, and resilience.


During the event, Rt. Hon. Laori joined discussions on improving access to reproductive health services, enhancing community participation, and building stronger partnerships that translate global commitments into real impact for families and young people. His participation underscored Nigeria’s and Africa’s strong voice in shaping IPPF’s future work and priorities.


The General Assembly also featured a vibrant Youth Forum, accountability sessions, and regional dialogues aimed at guiding the federation’s direction through 2028.


Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori reaffirmed his dedication—both as National President of PPFN and as a representative of the African region—to supporting collaborative efforts that strengthen health systems, uphold human dignity, and ensure that women, men, and young people have access to the information and services they need to thrive.

*Rt. Hon. Dr. Kwamoti B Laori, (MHR) Delivers Goodwill message at ICFP 2025 Holding in Bogotá, Colombia*


Laori, the National President of  Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria addressed global audience at the 7th International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP), 2025.


This year's ICFP is holding  between 1-6th November, 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia at the Ágora Bogotá Convention Center, where stakeholders converge to review national and global policies on family planning, sexual and reproductive health rights. 


The theme of this year's event  is “ *Equity Through Action: Advancing Sexual & Reproductive Health & Rights for All.”* 


Hon. Laori described the event as a global forum uniting advocates, implementers and researchers in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).


The law maker representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde in Nigeria's parliament aplauded the contributions of global donors and partners in advancing advovacy and access to quality services in support of sexual and reproductive health in Nigeria.


Laori, who serves as the National President of PPFN used the occasion to highlight some of the notable achievements of PPFN to include sponsorship of high impact population related projects and services that to promote access to quality sexual and reproductive health service delivery in Nigeria. 


Laori highlighted the collaborative effort of PPFN with other partners to sponsor youth advocacy, population related projects and programmes that creates awareness on the rights and mitigation of sexual and gender based violence among youth population.
