Farmers within Demsa/Numan/Lamurde constitiency have benefited from an empowerment program sponsored by Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori.
Taking advantage of the wet season and given that farmers are set for farming, the law maker sponsored the training and empowerment of constituents in order to ease the burden occasioned by the current economic realities in the country.
The training which was uniquely organized had Consultants who trained the farmers on research based - modern-farming techniques and how farmers can become agricultural entrepreneurs.
Participants were intensively trained on how to choose land, crop or animal variety, steps for preparation, nurturing, funding, value addition and marketing of farm produce.
The training manual which also covers essential aspects of agricultural value chain is enriched also with elements of smart agriculture using ICT assets and applications.
Agricultural professionals that included Elder Joseph Jaryum a Seasoned Consultant and Mr. Collins Visomenso Samaila, a Certified Business Consultant, both took turns to teach both theory and practical agriculture in the 21st century, technology- driven space to the participants.
The duo stressed the fact that no land is completely bad and no crop is more valuable than the other but all depends on deployment of the right knowledge; emphasized the need to harness local resources within ones location and apply proven knowledge to boost productivity is the aim of the training.
Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori represented by Hon. Titus Solomon, the State Commissioner for Rural Development as special guest of honor applauded the participants after a brief interface probing what they have learnt. He encouraged them to ensure that the knowledge gained and inputs gifted is not wasted but put to good use.
In his remarks, Hon. Bulus Daniel tasked the trained participants to cascade the knowledge gained in their various Wards, so that other farmers can benefit from it, also assures his support to make it possible.
Speaker after speaker like Hon. James Iliya, Elder Amna Ibrahim Farai,
District Head of Numan, Chief Madayi Tusayi, The Executive Chairmen of Demsa, Lamurde and Numan LGAs- Hon. Chief Akham Jalo; Hon. Bulus Daniel, Hon. Innocent Koto all encouraged participants to use the knowledge to boost productivity. Also urge them to shun idleness or any unlawful activity that doesn't but use their youthful energy productively.
The speakers also applauded Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori's visionary leadership and purposeful representation at the National Assembly, also prayed for continuous God's guidance and protection over his life and that of his family.
The event which included the presentation of certificates, fertilizers, knapsack sprayer, herbicides and cash donations to participants became the highlight of the occasion.
The visibly elated participants in their response chorused a big thank you to Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori for sponsoring the program that positively impacted their lives, promising to make maximum utility of the knowledge and items gifted them in their various locations.
Prof. Dishi M. Khobe, Adviser to the Adamawa State Government on Food Security, Hon. Pwagwadi Omeno SA to the State Governor, Hon. Niwesa George Kushi (Pipiyo Bata), Chief. Alfred Madakapwa (Bongo Bata) President Pene-da-Bwatiye, Abuja Branch, the LGA Chairmen of PDP in Lamurde and Numan, Hon. Dimas Bello and Hon. Pwadadi Hassan, Hon. Happy Maxwell are among several others dignitaries and top government functionaries that graced the occasion.
The training ended on a good note as participants didn't only demonstrate their satisfaction but pledged to use the skill acquire to boost their agro allied businesses in their various locations and beyond.
