*VICTIMS OF BANDITRY AND COMMUNAL CLASHES GETS SUCCOUR FROM HON LAORI*







Some victims of banditry and communal clashes in Numan/ Demsa/Lamurde federal Constituency received food and non food items from Hon Kwamoti B. Laori as palliative on the eve of Christmas. 


During the distribution, the member Representing Numan/ Demsa /Lamurde Federal Constituency in National Assembly, in his brief remark appreciated the people for their unwavering support and the confidence they have always reposed in him. 


Hon. La'ori used the occasion to thank the Federal Govt of Nigeria, especially, the National Emergency Management Agency for their intervention to cushion the effect of humanitarian crisis during disaster. 






The law maker recounted that Numan, Demsa and Lamurde Federal Constituency has suffered huge loses on account of man-made and natural disasters which has also led to displacements with it's attendant consequences on livelihood. 


He thereafter assured the people that with continuous engagement towards public enlightenment and peace building such as he is sponsoring, the whole nation would live in harmony.


It could be recalled that the law maker only two weeks ago distributed farm inputs to cushion the effect of flood on farmers and boast food production in the affected area, Hon. Kwamoti also sought the people’s continuous support and understanding, while assuring the people of more intervention in this direction.


Stakeholders and representatives of the people drawn from across the 30 Wards of Numan, Demsa and Lamurde LGAs applauded the effort of the law maker which they described as unprecedented also maintained their resolve to compliment the gesture promising to be fair and just in the distribution of the items to beneficiaries. 


On his part, the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) represented by Mr Kadiri praised the effort of the law maker and the manner the distribution was organized, he also assured the people of more support from the agency and the Federal Government.


The Law maker seized the opportunity to plead with the people to always be their brother's keeper, demonstrate love and care through sharing whatever little that they may receive just as the spirit of Christmas season entails.







Conclusively, Hon. Kwamoti wished all present at the event a memorable Christmas celebration and a prosperous new year.


Items distributed included , food and non food items and different types of building materials.

*_Primary Education in Bile Ward of Demsa LGA Received Boost from Hon.Kwamoti B. Laori_*

 



















In an act that can best be described as unprecedented, the member representing Numan Demsa Lamurde Federal Constituency in National Assembly Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B Laori has demonstrated goodwill by handing over a newly constructed and furnished 3 Classrooms Block in Gan- Sari Community of Bile Ward.


Notably, Gan-sari is a community with over 5000 inhabitants where over 300 pupils attend the only primary school there under a tree. 


For over four decades, the lone primary school there has been neglected by successive regime in the state where the resultant effect is that during wet seasons the school becomes closed owing to the fact that there's no roof to protect the pupils from rain and wind.


The latest gesture clearly shows that for the first time pupils would seat in a well furnished classrooms to learn in a conducive atmosphere.


At the Commissioning , the entire community rolled out in cheers and appreciation. The visibly elated Head Teacher described the situation as divine intervention.


In their separate remarks, the Hon. Commissioner Entrepreneurship Development, Hon James Iliya, the Executive Chairman of Demsa LGA who was Represented by the Vice- Chairman Hon. Elisha Dah, the Sole Administrator Bidoma State Development Area, District Head of Bile and the Village Heads of Gan-sari community all applauded the feat recorded by the member stating that the intervention and humane disposition to governance by him can never be forgotten.


It was heartwarming to see Party leaders of both APC and PDP in Demsa LGA expressing satisfaction without any reservations to La'ori's uncommon representation. They unanimously prayed God to crown his efforts with more success.


Responding, the law maker admonished the people to reciprocate the gesture by taking ownership of the structure and to ensure they make maximum utility by sending the wards to school.


He further promise to ensure more teachers are recruited and posted there to boost learning. 


Hon Kwamoti also took time to teach the pupils inspiring lectures at the commissioning. He advised them to dream and aspire to attain greater heights in their pursuit for academic excellence.


The pupils and their parents who could not hide their joy and excitement appreciated the encouragement.


The people assured Kwamoti that Bile Ward as a whole would vote for him and the entire PDP candidates in 2023 so as to attract more democracy dividend.


The event was climaxed by a gift presentation to Hon Laori by the Community elders, prayers for him while the traditional dance troupe entertained guests .

REPS MEMBER LAORI MOVES TO MITIGATE THE IMPACT OF FLOOD ON FOOD SECURITY IN NUMAN DEMSA LAMURDE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.

 

























Owing to the devastating effects of flood disaster where many have been rendered hapless, Farmers in Numan/Demsa/ Lamurde have been aided through an empowerment initiative by the member representing Numan Demsa Lamurde in the House of Representatives, Hon. Kwamoti B Laori.


The federal law maker who sponsored the distribution of Water Pumps, Herbicides, Knapsack Sprayers and Fertilizer to farmers in his Constituency, believed the gestures will go a long way into ameliorating the plight of those affected.


The gesture which is clearly aimed at mitigating the impact of flood that ravaged the area in October where crops and farmlands were destroyed, is expected to also uplift the spirit of victim who appear despondent.


 Stakeholders who witnessed the occasion applauded the Reps member for coming to the aid of the farmers at the time it is needed the most.


They described the effort as apt and timely as it would boast the morale of the farmers who have since commenced land preparation for the dry season cropping in the area.


In his remarks, the law maker advised beneficiaries to make good use of the items while urging those yet to benefit to patiently await their turn as such distribution would continue to take place as long as he continues representing them.


Others who spoke at the event included the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon. Pwamwakaino Makondo, Hon. Commissioner Tertiary Education, Prof. Dishi Khobe, Hon. Christopher Sofore- Executive Chairman Numan LGA, Elder Amna Farai, Hon, Dimas Bello and host of others.


The beneficiaries on their part expressed gratitude for the gesture and prayed God to reward the member for his life impacting intervention .


Highlights of the event was a cultural dance display by the Bachama Traditional Dance Troupe.

HON LAORI FACILITATES TRAINING OF CRITICAL STAKEHOLDERS AND COMMUNITY BASED INSTITUTIONS ON ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE

 


A two day intensive training that is meant to empower district heads and other critical stakeholders with the basic skills of alternative dispute resolution has been organized at the Pwanobato Event center, Numan by Hon Kwamoti B Laori, the Member representing Numan/Demsa / Lamurde Constituency in the National Assembly.


The all important training which is meant to  promote peaceful coexistence among his  constituents had participants drafted from  the religious, traditional institutions, community security structures, women, youth and cultural groups.


The training which was segmented into different brain storming sessions and practical experimentation approaches was made rich by having resources persons  such as Prof. Chinyere Alimba, Dr Agoso Bamaiyi, Dr Clement Jakhinwa, Musa Shalangwa who further enlightened participants on the  various models and approaches to  conflict resolutions.


Representatives from security agents such as the DSS, The Nigerian Police Force , The NSCDC and other related organisations such as the Public Complaint Commission, participated as worthy contributors to the training.


Earlier in his opening remark, Hon Laori appreciated the invaluable  role being played by District Heads and the community based structures which according to him  has tremendously helped in promoting unity, peace and progress in their respective domains.


The law maker laid emphasis on how significant the training is, given that it will sharpen their skills in conflict prevention and management. He advised against the tendency to resort to Court litigation, saying the cost implication can be somewhat straining on both the part of the complainant and the defendant hence the need to embrace an alternative approach in a manner that preserves  relationship thereby restoring peaceful coexistence among conflicting parties.


At the end of the training,  participants expressed appreciation to the law maker as they described the program as a huge success where they have immensely benefited due to the vision of the law maker who prioritize peace as a cardinal point of his of legislative duties. 


Speaking on behalf of the District Heads and participants Chief Linus Anonoma, the Kpana Rigangun further promised to trickle down the training to village heads and other traditional structures who will in turn apply the skills in resolving dispute. 


It is hoped that the process will help reduce pressure on paramount rulers who have been bombarded with numerous trivial cases that ordinarily should have been settled  at the lower level.


Highlights of the event was the presentation of certificates to participants by Hon Kwamoti B Laori and assisted by Mal. Mohammed Nasir Umar, the representative of Public Complaints Commission in the Zone.
