REPS MEMBER LAORI SPLASHES CONSTITUENTS WITH EMPOWERMENT MATERIALS ON VALENTINE'S DAY

 





















In an elaborate event on this year's Valentine's Day, the people of Lamurde were treated a  surprise distribution of empowerment materials to not fewer than 200 beneficiaries by the Member Representing Numan/Demsa/ Lamurde Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B Laori.


The event which was the first of its kind ever to be  arranged by the Law maker attracted applauses and commendations as it was also celebrated amidst pomp and peagentry.


Speaking at the ceremony,  Hon Laori reminded the constituents that the gesture was part of his  campaign promise in 2019 where he informed that he will engage in Youth empowerment,  infrastructural development and to also help in tackling security challenges in the area.

Laori further highlighted some of his recorded achievements in the last two years to include the facilitation of youth employment into the public sector, training and cash support to all categories of persons , sponsoring of 103 persons to access loan grants,  cash support for over 900 women petty traders,. Supply of laptops to students, construction of an ultra modern  ICT center, distribution of dry season farming inputs with cash support, facilitation of COVID Rapid  Response N Power benefits to over 200 beneficiaries, etc.


The member further stated that the distribution of the empowerment materials was done in view of the abundance of intelligent human capital in the area. He advised that the potentials once put to good use can minimize poverty and unemployment. He highlighted that the selection of beneficiaries was done according to individual applications and need assessment by stakeholders where at least one person was selected from the 102 Polling Units that make up the 10 wards in Lamurde.


Hon Laori informed the gathering that in keeping to his primary responsibility as a Federal law maker, he has sponsored a number of life impacting  bills that are at various stages of legislation. He thereafter urged the people to continue to support the PDP and the Government of Adamawa State under the able leadership of H E Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.


The Hama Bachama who was represented by the Kpana Rigangun applauded the gesture saying it will go a long way in alleviating poverty in the area. 


The event which took place at the Chairman's Lodge in Lamurde had in attendance top Government functionaries , politicians and personalities that included , Hon Dishi Khobe, Commissioner of Higher Education, Hon. Lami Ahmed- Commisioner women Affairs, Hon. Talatu Yohana- The Chairperson Transition Committee Lamurde LGA, Hon Bulus Daniel,  The Wakili Lamurde, Village and Ward Heads, Reps of CAN and Muslim Council, Party Executives and a host of others.


While appealing to beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items given to them, Hon Laori on a lighter note promised to patronized the shops of  Barbers who were given clippers and generator sets so as to ascertain the level of their seriousness.


Guests were entertained to cultural dances from the Mwana and the Wajale dance troupes .

*Reps Member Kwamoti commissions a Block of 3 Classrooms, Recruit Teachers and Shares Writing Materials to Pupils in Ngodogoron*

 


















In his quest to bridge infrastructure gap in education across rural communities of Numan/Demsa/ Lamurde federal constituency, Reps. Member Hon. Kwamoti sponsored the construction of a block 3 of classrooms in Ngodogoron, Ngbakowo Ward of Lamurde LGA.


The project which is constructed in fulfilment of campaign promise made to the people by the Law maker in 2019 and has been described as a remarkable achievement was celebrated In a colorful Commissioning ceremony, witnessed by well wishers, political associates and friends.


At the event, the Law maker presented Books and writing materials to the School to further strengthen the effort.


Further Responding to the demand for more Teachers made by the School Head Teacher Earnest Sheambo and other Community leaders in their remarks, the Law maker supported by Gyawana State Development Area Administrator promised to recruit Teachers on ad-hoc basis, on a monthly stipends of #25,000.


The Hama Bachama who was represented at the event by Kpana Rigangun Chief Linus Anonoma applauded the remarkable achievement. Village Heads from surrounding Villages also graced the occasion and expressed delight towards the developmental feat.


Highlight of the event was a cultural rendition displayed by cheerful inhabitants of neighbouring villages who adorned the road sides while singing and dancing to welcome the law maker and his entourage.


The event was witnessed by top government officials amongst whom are the Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly RT Hon Pwamwakaino Mackondo, Commissioner Youth and Entrepreneurship Development Hon James Iliya, Commissioner Tertiary Education Hon Dishi Khobe, Administratrator Gyawana Development Area Hon Bulus Daniel, Mr Menas Nganguran, and a host of others.
